A small corner in which to collect my Poirot fan whatsits: art, writing, and sundry. Building a towering edifice of Agatha Christie fun with precision of the fingers and the brain!
Vain searches for clues in dispatch cases at Styles Court?
So this little series of paintings seems to run. 🙂 I jest, but I do think the contrast is poignant. The warm vitality versus the cold, empty loneliness…

Lovely and yet sad scenes. The contrast between the two is heart rending as well as mind boggling.
For those who have been through the entire series canon are stunned inside of a minute of watching Curtain. I noticed that, in other episodes (The Big Four) Poirot could be picked out from a crowd just from the back of his head. Japp did it. The points that single Poirot out in so many episodes (by the back of his head, his shoes and his hands) confront us with a heartbreaking reality in Curtain, before anyone says anything.
